‘Tis the Season to be…

It’s that time of year. The time that’s suppose to be filled with joy, but…

People you loved have passed away.

People you were once close to are no longer close.

People you love are hurting.

You’re hurting.

Things have changed.

Life has happened, and it’s hard!!

This has been a rough season for me. Not because anything bad is going on in my personal life, but because so many people that I love are dealing with BIG things, BIG life changes, BIG disappointments, BIG losses, and my heart grieves…

I wonder how they can possibly find joy in the midst of their pain.

And then I remember JESUS!!!

These verses come ringing back in my ears:

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS, the author and perfecter of faith, who FOR THE JOY SET BEFORE HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”-Hebrews 12:1-3 (emphasis mine)

Jesus suffered. He understands our pain. We can run to Him!! He is sufficient in our weakness.

My prayer is that each of you can find a way to fix your eyes on Jesus during this season. He is the reason for the season!! The enemy will use anything he can to get your eyes off of Him. He’ll use your feelings, your current situation, your relationships, your job, your family, anything he can. You just need to tell that old devil where to go!!

Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the Wonderful Counselor!! Fix your eyes on HIM!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  1. Candice, I’m so glad to be counted among your friends! I love the way you teach and express your love for Jesus! I’m learning to “fix my old eyes on Jesus” more and more because of your reminders and because of your honesty and life!
